May Chapter Meeting--Coral Reefs

Summer is almost here, which means trips to the beach and fun in the ocean—kayaking, snorkeling, and maybe diving? So grab your gear and join us as we dive into a special presentation on how coral reefs are facing a changing climate.

Our guest speaker will be Dr. Stuart Sandin, Professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography (and native of the San Fernando Valley). Dr. Sandin leads a group of ecologists, biologists, and computer engineers on the 100 Island Challenge Project, a global campaign to study the variability of reefs, and will speak on the capacity of corals to adapt to changing conditions.
